Parents!!! I hope all is going well for you. Decision is going well. We've got a lot going on right now. I encourage you to check out all the announcements on the student blog.

One of the announcements I wanted to let you know about is The Amazing Bible Race. This is a nationwide race for any youth ministry that would like to join with the goal of reading the entire Bible. The race is based off the reality show, "The Amazing Race."

Each youth ministry forms teams of 4-7 students. Each member purchases a $6 field guide that corresponds to one of the six sections of the Bible (It's a devotional for each chapter of the Bible). Over the next two years the teams will read the entire Bible in six, twelve week legs, while completing quizzes, hurdles, and challenges. Some of it is done online. Other challenges are completed as a whole team. Points are earned for completion of challenges and quizzes. After two years the top 10 teams win $500 to the mission trip of their choice, mission organization, or for the youth ministry.

I would like you to encourage your teens about participating. It's going to be a great way to actually read through the entire Bible, while building relationships those on your team. It's like a small group. Each week the leader of the team will contact each member to follow up on how they are doing and to plan when to get together for the challenges.

We will start no later than the first week of November.
